Moon Sand Sweet Delights Candy Factory up for review!

We were sent a Moon Sand Sweet Delights Candy Factory playset to review and the girls were more than happy to give me a helping hand!

Moon Sand Sweet Delights Candy Factory Playset

The Moon Sand Sweet Delights Candy Factory lets you make tasty-looking sweets out of Moon Sand (although I did have to remind my three year old that you couldn’t actually eat them, bless her!) You can set up your own candy shop and make all sorts of delicious looking sweets and treats using the Moon Sand. There is a candy press and ten moulds to make your creations and the set comes with two colours of Moon Sand (although I found that the girls soon mixed the colours up!) It never dries out, so you can keep your creations to play again with later. Or of course you can squish them up and start all over again. The box it comes in doubles up as a storage box too.

Moon Sand Sweet Delights Candy Factory is a great way to encourage creative play for ages 3 and up and I have to say that my girls absolutely loved it. But, and it is a big but, I have to say that I wasn’t so keen on it myself. As much as I tried to encourage the girls to play with the Moon Sand in the actual storage box (it all opens up and is in effect a plastic tray) it still seemed to get everywhere! I was finding Moon Sand all over the house for days after they had played with it. It is so incredibly messy. That said, it sweeps or vacuums up absolutely fine but it just seems like too much like hard work and I’m afraid that I have banished it to be played with out on the patio table so at least the sandy mess is outdoors and that much easier to clean away. I know that sounds mean but you’d be surprised just how much mess that can be made!

This is a bit of a mixed review from us. The girls of course would give it a huge thumbs up. They loved this playset. And as much as I think it is good for creative play and it really does mould like it says it should, I have to say that I wasn’t so impressed with the mess that it left behind so I can’t give this a huge thumbs up myself.
