I was absolutely over the moon to be invited to become a member of the Lego Duplo UK Blogger Panel for 2012. Over the coming months, we will be sent some toys to play with and review that I will share with you here on the blog and there might even be the chance of some competitions for you to win some goodies too! Good, eh?
So first of all, we have been sent this fabulous Creative Cakes set to play with..
The set comes complete with 55 shapes and bricks including muffins, meringues and candles – everything you need to be able to create the yummiest of Lego Duplo cakes! It comes in a sturdy box which is handy for keeping everything tidy at the end of play but best of all, the lid of the box doubles up as a serving tray. Perfect for tea parties of course. There is a handy little booklet that comes with the set giving lots of building ‘recipes’ but to be honest, my girls were just straight in there to build their own.
This set is recommended for ages 2-5 years so the pieces are lovely and chunky, fitting together with ease. I liked the bright pastel colours of the bricks too. But what I especially loved was that because there are so many bricks and shapes, my two youngest could happily play together with this and there were plenty of bricks to go around to make lots of cakes together. And of course, this set is compatible and fully interchangeable with all other Duplo AND Lego bricks too. How clever is that?
We absolutely loved this Creative Cakes set and I honestly can’t recommend it enough. Priced at just £19.99 I would say that this is great value given just how many bricks you get and of course the fact that it is interchangeable with other Lego Duplo means that it gives endless fun. I love toys that engage my children’s imaginations and creativity and this does just that. It goes without saying that this gets a huge thumbs up from us and a big thank you to Lego Duplo too for inviting us to be part of the panel this year. We are absolutely thrilled!

Aww those are so cute. x
We’ve had lots of fun. Just a shame you can’t actually eat them
Oh my god that is so cute, I am very jealous I want to play, as usual your LO is truly beautiful. Can’t wait for Addy to get older although I think I have a tomboy in the making
She’ll be playing with Duplo before you know it
This looks like a lovely set of Duplo. Ours has begun to get a bit depleted so need to stock up again. Your little girl seems delighted with her creation!
It really is fab – would definitely make a nice addition to any Duplo collection
Looks amazing-if only you could eat them afterwards! What? I am pregnant x
Hmmm that’s one hell of a craving you have yourself there
Looks fab but I prefer the post above so you can actually eat the culinary delights!
