I was asked by the lovely folks over at Mountain Warehouse to review one of their new magic kid’s waterproof jackets. With half term coming up and trips to the Lake District and Robin Hood’s Bay planned, it was perfect timing. But would you believe it, there wasn’t so much as a spot of rain to put it to the test. The one time I actually want it to rain in the school holidays, it doesn’t! Ha! So I have literally been waiting for the weather to take a typically British turn so that we could put this jacket through its paces!
The magic waterproof jacket is a fully waterproof for rain jacket for kids – complete with taped seams, a pack away hood and adjustable features. Oh and the magic bit? When the fabric gets wet, a floral print appears! It’s fab and a perfect way to look great and stay dry on wet days.
Obviously it has to be said that my daughter was most taken by the magic bit (and who can blame her?) but from a practical mummy’s point of view, I loved that it was fully waterproof to prevent water getting in. It even has taped seams to ensure that no water can leak through the stitched areas and it is adjustable at the hem and cuffs giving a perfect fit. I love that the lightweight fabric makes it perfect for fitting over layers but also means that it is easy to pack away too. The hood folds away easily and is fastened with strong velcro. I also loved that the coat had lots of pockets and even a name label.
Priced at £49.99, this lovely jacket is available in two bright colours – turquoise or purple and a range of sizes from age 2 to age 10. To take a look for yourself, please pop over to www.mountainwarehouse.com. We absolutely love this jacket and it gets a huge thumbs up from us!
Disclaimer: I was very kindly sent this jacket for the purpose of this review but all opinions (and gurning models) are of course my own. I should also say a huge thank you to Mountain Warehouse for sending this jacket in time for half term, meaning that there wasn’t a spot of rain for the whole of the holidays. In fact, maybe I have just discovered the secret to a glorious summer…..

Lovely idea, it looks great and practical too. It’s a pity they don’t make one more suitable for boys though (just checked on their website).
Very cute little jacket

Thank-you (Mostly) Yummy Mummy for the glowing review, we love the jacket to
Sarah-Unfortunately we don’t currently have a boys version of the jacket but we plan on adding this to our range next season.
Love the fabric! Always thought that practical jackets were quite plain. Lie the self colour pattern.
Never mind one for boys I want one for Mummies!
