Beach Factory Sun Protection up for review

Some time ago now I was sent some fabulous sun protection clothes for my children and I’ve been dying to try them out but the weather has been conspiring against me of course! Until this week that is and out came the sun to coincide with half-term – hooray!

I have always been so careful with my children in the sun – probably to the point of paranoia but we are a very outdoorsy family and so for me, sun protection is absolutely vital. But I honestly don’t think you can ever be careful enough when it comes to protecting yourself and of course your little ones from those nasty rays. So when I was contacted by the lovely people over at The Beach Factory who specialise in sun protective UV swimwear for kids and adults, I was delighted to do a review.

I was sent UV sunsuits for the little ones, both of which were absolutely gorgeous! I found the sizings to be perfect for their ages and my girls found them really comfortable to wear. In fact, I had to wrestle them off them that night come bedtime so I think it’s safe to say that they loved them!

First up is the Babeskins Girls Cerise and White Spotted UV Sunsuit. The design of this is so pretty and bright – I love it! There’s a zip front which makes it really easy to take on and off. The fabric is tested to a standard of UPF 50+ so you have the peace of mind that your child’s skin is protected from harmful UVA and UVB rays. It’s also quick drying so perfect for at the beach – or of course even at home in the paddling pool! It’s available from age 2 right up to age 8 and at just £14.95 I do think this is super value. This really is a high quality suit and beautifully made.

Next we have the O Neill OZone Fox Pink and White Sunsuit which is a best seller and I can see why! Sunsuits are perfect for when little ones are in and out of the water all day. Again, this offers UPF 50+ sun protection and is made from quick drying material. It comes in a range of sizes from ages 1 right up to age 6. This suit has a zip at the back and it is a really comfortable fit and easy enough to get in and out of. Priced at £19.95 I do think this is good value especially given that I know that this will be worn over and over again the whole Summer over!

Obviously sun protection doesn’t stop when your little ones aren’t so little so for my eldest two children, I was sent rash shirts to try out.

For my son I was sent the Dudeskins Black Optico UV Swim Shirt and I have to say that I was really impressed. Obviously, to me the fact that it provides a maximum sun protection of UPF50+ is the most important of all but to my son, it is all about how it looks! And, it got his thumbs up and trust me, that doesn’t happen all that often so high praise indeed! It was a really good fit and really well made with a fab printed design. Again like the wetsuits it is quick drying and teamed with board shorts it gives that cool surfer dude look! At just £12.95 I think this is excellent value.

For my daughter I was sent an O Neill Cuckatoo UV Rash Shirt which was in a gorgeous aqua colour. It has a fab graphic print across the front and again this could be teamed with board shorts or even as a cover up over a bikini. What I loved most about this was that it looked like a regular style t-shirt whilst still providing that all important UPF50+ protection. This comes in sizes ranging from age 5 right up to 12 and at £16.95 and especially given the quality of the shirt, it is definitely excellent value.

The Beach Factory has a superb and really extensive website and if you are looking for sun protection whether it be for going abroad on holiday or even for at home in the garden with the paddling pool – I really couldn’t recommend it enough. The quality of the sunsuits and shirts was absolutely superb and the service honestly couldn’t be more helpful.

And especially for my blog readers The Beach Factory are now offering free postage! All you need to do is quote the discount code of MostlyYummy0611 when you checkout your order.

I am really careful with the boys and the sun as I am so pale skinned. The issue I have is hats, as Maxi has such a large head. None of the sun protection hats fit his head!
