Slendertone Bottom up for review

I was contacted by Slendertone and asked to trial their new Bottom device over 28 days and having reviewed and loved the Face unit before, I jumped at the chance, I won’t lie.

The Slendertone Bottom promises to firm, tighten and tone the bottom area in as little as just four weeks. And does it work? In a word – YES! I absolutely love it!

It is really easy to use. Basically it is a pair of shorts that have four velcro flaps on the back. You attach gel pads to the open flaps where the pad locators are and these pads then have plastic covers so you use them time and time again. It’s recommended that you replace the pads when they have worn down but I’ve been using my shorts for six weeks now and there are still no signs of them needing replacing so I think it’s safe to say that they last a long while. The shorts are really stretchy so a comfortable fit and the gel pads don’t feel at all sticky on your skin. Just maybe a little cold when you first put them on.

The controller is rechargeable and it had a really good battery life. I was finding that the controller was lasting a week easily and of course to recharge, you just clip it in to the charger and plug it in so it couldn’t be easier. The whole lot also fits into a handy little drawstring bag that it comes with so it is really easy to store or indeed portable. If you were going away then it would talk up very little space.

It is recommended that you use the Slendertone Bottom for 30 minutes a day, four times a week for four weeks and then go on to use it three times a week to maintain the muscle tone and shape. I was actually doing it five times a week as I fitted it in with my normal weekday workout routines. I have to say that the first session was a bit of a shock as I really wasn’t expecting it to be such hard going. I had visions of being able to sit with my shorts on for half an hour, maybe read a magazine, sip on a G&T but no chance! I had agreed to diarise my use of the shorts on Twitter and I could barely tweet as I clenched let alone anything else! The pulses come in waves and the idea is to increase the intensity to a comfortable level but I am yet to get over 70 even though it goes right up to 99 – that is just how intense it is! I found that it took me quite a few sessions to find the best position to do it in too. I tried sitting, laying down and even standing up. In the end I found that the most comfortable position for me was sitting on the bed with my feet up. Plus this way, I could also be hidden away from everyone while I did it. Honestly, me in velcro shorts while I twitch away is not my best look. And one that is definitely best hidden away. I think some things are meant to be kept a mystery and the secret of my new peachy bottom is definitely one of them!

Using the Slendertone Bottom for just 30 minutes is said to be as effective as 60 reversed leg lifts. The clinically proven electro muscle stimulation (EMS) technology mimics the body’s natural muscle action by stimulating the nerves supplying each muscle group. So basically each contraction of the device tones and strengthens the muscles. I found that my bottom was actually aching the following day for the first week. But hey, no pain no gain and the results that I have found are well worth the effort of using the shorts and indeed the aches the next day.

I don’t believe in ‘quick fix’ solutions and I don’t think Slendertone is that. I am not overweight, I am a very healthy size 12 but I do workout hard and using the shorts is just an extension of my daily routine now. I have to say that I do watch what I eat and I do exercise at least five times a week. And for me, the Slendertone Bottom has definitely enhanced all of my other hard work. I definitely saw an improvement in bottom firmness, lift and tone. There is absolutely NO doubt about it. I would recommend it without any hesitation – I absolutely love the results that it has given me and I will continue to use it to maintain the amazing results. I was really surprised at just how visible the results were and also how quickly I saw these changes.

    Having seen & laughed at your tweets about the slendertone sessions I was intrigued to read your review. I’ve always had issues with my bottom half & no matter what I do I never seem to develop any muscles in this area, think I might have to invest in a pair of these shorts!

    They sound great, I’ve always been a bit skeptical of the concept of Slendertone & similar products so good to read a real life review on them. If I had the spare £s I’d definitely give them a try!

      Honestly, I’m like you in that I don’t believe in quick fixes and am really sceptical about these things too but the results I have seen have been fabulous. I am so happy with the difference that the shorts have made.

      I’m not sure about that you would maybe need to check on the Slendertone website? That said, I’m not sure how you would fit into the shorts when pregnant. They are tight fitting and definitely no room for a baby bump!

    I’ve just ordered my Slender tone system abs and a separate bottom toning garment a few minutes ago! I’m a size 12 with flat bottom and chunky thighs..I really hope they work for me. Do you know if the bottom garment tones up thighs as well? i’ve started to walking 3 miles a day as part of my exercise regime lol..Thank you so much again 🙂

    H i have the slendertone abs belt !! Also the shorts and the arm pads ive bought velcro and adapted the pads for other muscle to isolate them !! And it works !! The most important thing i found is sticking to the routine !! Eating healthy !!
