JoJo Maman Bebe have some fantastic Christmas gift ideas over on their site right now. From reindeer sleepsuits to party clothes, from rocking horses to super racer sledges for when that snow hopefully arrives! I was very lucky to be sent some gorgeous traditional toys to review.
First we have the Fairy Tale Dolls House made by Lovely EverEarth. It is made from solid wood so not only does it look beautiful on the nursery shelf but it also means that it will stand up to the test of time. I absolutely love traditional wooden toys for this very reason. It is painted in gorgeous bright colours and even comes complete with 2 wooden doll figures and furniture for inside and outside. I particularly loved the little welcome sign and garden fence – so cute! The front of the house opens up and the roof even lifts off, so you can play upstairs and downstairs. It is really beautifully constructed though and it is easy for little ones to do this by themselves as the pieces are nice and chunky for little hands, as they should be. All the parts fit inside the house come tidy up time which means that you won’t lose any of the pieces plus it makes it quite portable too. I can definitely see this coming away with us on holidays. I absolutely loved this toy, as did my girls. They go back to play with it time and time again. I would say therefore that at just £34.00 this makes for excellent value and gets a huge thumbs up from us.
Next we were sent two beautiful rag dolls called Holly and Ivy. My girls are absolutely dolly mad so they loved them to pieces the minute they laid their eyes on them! They are beautiful traditional dollies with a soft huggable body and removable clothes. They have woollen hair tied back in bows and are just adorable. They are dressed in cosy winter clothes and I particularly loved the little fur muff and festive colours. They would make such a lovely Christmas present. There are actually a whole collection of rag dolls to choose from over on the site and they all come with different names. It would be lovely to give them to their namesake as a gift I thought. Priced at just £14.00 each I think they are exceptional value given just how beautifully made they are. Again, these get a huge thumbs up from us.
I honestly can’t recommend these toys enough. Superb quality and excellent value.
