What I Wore Wednesday

It has been an absolute age since I joined in with Transatlantic Blonde’s What I Wore Wednesday and I thought it was about time that I jumped back on the linky and joined in instead of just enjoying everybody else’s posts.

The weather is driving me mad and has quite honestly thrown me into complete wardrobe malfunction mode. The grey skies are telling me to keep wrapped up in cashmeres and opaques while the calendar is telling me that I should be breaking out the pastels and peep toes. What is a girl to do? Well this girl has mostly reverted to a uniform of skinnies and ballet flats. So here I am….

(Butterfly top – New York Laundry, navy camisole – H&M, ink blue skinnies – M&S, bespoke ballet flats – c/o Upper Street Shoes, freshwater pearl bracelet – Eyre, Sweetie bracelet – Links of London, Sweetie Candy Hearts bracelet – Links of London, Watch – Michael Kors, French manicure with topcoat of Barry M Silver Glitter)Β

I’ve had this top a while and this was the first time that I had worn it. I had (shamefully) forgotten that I had even bought it and came across it when I was ransacking my wardrobe for ideas of what on earth am I going to wear to Cybher! How is it less than two weeks away?! Anyway, this top is one of my possibilities now that I’ve worn it and loved it. It is in a super soft sheer fabric (hence the camisole underneath) and has a really pretty butterfly print. Love it. Speaking of camisoles, H&M are amazingly good for basics right now. They cost buttons but I always find that they wash really well. I must admit that I love H&M for a cheap and cheerful fashion fix for me and the children.

The skinnies believe it or not are from good old M&S. I know, I know! Not the first place you would think of for jeans but I do a lot of stealth shopping in M&S. I can nip in for a loaf of bread and sneak something for me and there are some occasional gems to be found. These jeans have that perfect s-t-r-e-t-c-h that means that they don’t cut off your blood supply but don’t go baggy on your knees. Or worse still your bum. They’re a really dark ink colour too which I love. That said, maybe the fact that I’m shopping in M&S actually means that I’m more middle-aged than I would care to admit. Hmmm don’t answer that!

I have two new additions to my arm candy, both of which were birthday presents. There has to be some perk to turning thirty-five, right? The pretty pearl bracelet was a present from my Mum and the Sweetie Candy Hearts bracelet was from my darling man. When he gets it right, he gets it really bloody right! I think they both look perfect with the Sweetie bracelet that I already have.

I know I bang on and on about my Upper Street ballet flats but man alive do I love these shoes. They couldn’t be more me! Anybody would think that I designed them myself….. Haha! Seriously though, Upper Street is every shoe lovers dream and if you haven’t been over to have a drool yet then I insist that you do! Beyond beautiful.

So that was me! Don’t forget to click on the badge below to take a look at the other entries this week over at Transatlantic Blonde, I know I will be!

Love the top and have just spent far too long on the Upper Street website, designing my dream pair of shoes, if there had been a mint leather it would have been all stations go, this blogging business is turning out to be a busy one, inspiration from every corner!
