Lego Duplo My First Farm up for review

We are so excited to be part of the Lego Duplo UK Blogger Panel for 2012 and today we have the ‘My First Farm’ playset up for review.

The set comes complete with animals including a sheep, pig, cow and chicken, a farmer and tractor, flower bricks and fence posts, a window and door and of course lots of different coloured bricks that can be used to build the farm (and of course anything else that takes your fancy.)

My six year old loves to copy the playset exactly as it looks on the box and I love to watch her work out which brick goes where. My four year old on the other hand tends to be a bit more freestyle and within minutes of opening the box, she had built the farm animals a helicopter. But that’s the absolute beauty of Lego Duplo of course.

I love the playsets because the number of solutions and combinations are endless which of course means that endless fun can be had. I love toys that encourage my children to use their imaginations and creativity and I definitely find that these are the toys that hold their attention the longest. They get to learn through building and stacking, identifying the colours and in this case, the animals but best of all is the social aspect of playing make believe games and of course being able to play together.

The playsets are intended for children aged 18 months to 5 years but I think that my older children would argue that the fun doesn’t have to stop when you are 5! And of course like all Lego Duplo, these sets are completely interchangeable with all other Duplo AND Lego bricks too, how clever is that? So the fun really is endless.

It goes without saying that My First Farm gets a huge thumbs up from us and I honestly can’t recommend it enough.

My First Lego Duplo Farm, Item number #6141, Ages 2-5, 62 pieces, RRP £19.99. Huge thanks again to the lovely folks over at Lego Duplo for asking us to be part of this years panel!
