I love wooden toys. Not only do they look fabulous but they stand the test of time and having four boisterous children, I’m speaking from experience here! We were sent this fabulous Le Toy Van Grand Voyage Garage to review recently and it’s already a big favourite with my girls. I don’t think a day has passed when they haven’t had it out to play since it arrived.
The garage has three storeys with ramps and a working lift and petrol pump. It even includes a wooden car and helicopter which is a nice bonus but it’s worth adding that the garage fits standard sized toy cars. My girls have quite a collection of cars of their own and what they have inherited from their big brother and of course they were very keen to move them all into the new shiny garage!
The lift is operated with a dial on the side of the tower and moved up and down with ease. It’s nice and chunky so perfect for little hands. The garage is recommended for ages 3+ and I think this is about right. The ramps join each of the storeys and are made from strong plastic so the cars glide easily from level to level. I love the attention to detail on the garage too from parking spaces to exit signs, helipad to petrol price signs, it’s fabulous!
We absolutely loved this toy. The only thing that I would say is that it comes flat packed so there is some building to do. This isn’t a negative thing of course, just something to maybe keep in mind if you were buying it as a gift. You might want to build it first if your children are anywhere near as impatient as mine. I’m a dab hand with a screwdriver (no honestly – I really am!) and it took me a good 50 minutes to put the garage together. I must add that it comes with full instructions and it is really easy to construct, it’s just that there are an awful lot of pieces to screw together as you would expect from a large garage!
Priced at just £44.99, I do think that this is good value given the size and quality of the toy. I can see my girls playing with this toy for years and years to come. We were sent Le Toy Van Grand Voyage Garage from Kids Playstore Limited who have a wide range of kids toys and games. I loathe to mention the ‘C’ word in October but if you are looking for presents for your little ones then the site is definitely worth a look.
