..so it’s what I wore
Pink boucle oversized coat – Matalan, striped fine knit top – H&M, statement necklace – H&M, indigo skinny jeans – Boden, jewelled ballet flats – Next
I first spied this pink coat thanks to Alison over at Not Another Mummy Blog and as soon as I laid eyes on it, I knew it had to be mine and ordered it straight away. It’s pink, it’s boucle, it might as well have my name plastered all over it! But actually, now it’s here I’m not sure if I can quite pull off the whole oversized coat thing. I have spent my thirties learning which clothes and shapes suit me or rather, what really doesn’t suit me. And the oversized coat breaks my usual rules about fitted things being the most flattering on my shape. But saying that, I’ve spent the last four months literally working my arse off to lose weight (sixteen pounds down, ten to go) and I’m not even sure what my shape is right now. But buying a coat that makes me feel like the size of a house? Hmmm I just feel a bit lost in it to be honest. I think it’s the dropped shoulders more than the sack like shape. But anyway, the labels are off so it’s here to stay, I just need to convince myself that it looks okay. The fact that it is pink is helping, I won’t lie. Oh and it has huge pockets. I do love a pocket or two.
To balance out feeling completely unsure about my new coat, I’ve reverted to my mummy uniform of skinnies and stripes. My sartorial security blanket if you will. I am still completely in love with these Boden skinnies they are just such a great fit. The stripey jumper is a new addition to my wardrobe. Like I needed more stripes? But it was a bargain in the H&M sale and I just couldn’t resist. It’s a fine knit jumper rather than a tee and I’m thinking that it will be great over shirts too. I’ve worn it today with this pretty new necklace also from H&M. Oh and of course the obligatory ballet flats. It wouldn’t be a mumiform without ballet flats, would it? Ha!
So that was a very unsure me, what have you been wearing this week?
