What I Wore Wednesday: The animal print dress edition

It’s Wednesday..

..so you’ve guessed it, it’s what I wore

What I Wore Wednesday (Mostly) Yummy Mummy Blog

Red leopard print dress – La Redoute, black opaques – Wolford, black Jalouse Spiral ankle boots – Ash, watch – Michael Kors, bracelet – c/o X by Trollbeads

On paper, a bright red animal print dress with a leather trim should scream LOUD but actually I think it’s quite the opposite and makes a lovely parred down day dress. I still maintain that animal print is a neutral. Even when it is bright red. No I’m not sure how that makes sense either but it does in my head. I bought this dress from La Redoute last year and I remember quite vividly having to shoehorn myself into it. This year, not so much. Ha! I actually love how it now fits me now as a loose shift dress, it’s just so easy to wear. Oh and it has two – yes two – big pockets. Quite possible my dream dress!

This is the very first outing of the season for my beloved Ash ankle boots and oh how I love them. Best investment ever. I could have kissed them when I pulled them out of their little bag this morning. But I didn’t. That would just be strange. Ahem. Seriously though, I would buy them in every single colour if I had the pennies. I just adore the shape and they are ridiculously comfy while looking so damn good. No easy feat.

So that was me, full on autumn winter wardrobe on the go and all old favourites that I’ve pulled out from last year. Nothing beats shopping from your own wardrobe. I must admit that I’m secretly glad to be back in my opaques although I had forgotten the joy that is getting dressed in the dark. I really must sort my navy and black tights into very separate piles. Why have I not done this before? I think this might just change my life. Or at least my legs.
