In celebration of the release of Rachael Lucas’ brand new book Coming Up Roses, I am very excited to be taking part in a blog tour.
I am a huge fan of Rachael Lucas’ writing and I was lucky enough to be sent a signed proof copy ahead of it being published last month Her debut Sealed With A Kiss was a Kindle top ten bestseller, selling over 80,000 copies and was followed by her novella Sealed With A Christmas Kiss which was a Kindle top twenty bestseller. Having loved both of these books, I couldn’t wait to get my mitts on Coming Up Roses and what can I say, you are in for a treat!
Would-be gardening expert Daisy can’t believe her luck when her parents announce they’re off on a midlife crisis gap year, leaving her in charge of their gorgeous garden. Having just emerged from a horrible break-up, some peace and quiet in the countryside is just what Daisy needs. Only, village life turns out to be anything but…
I absolutely loved Coming Up Roses it was one of those books that I wanted to gobble up in one sitting. One of the things that I love most about Rachael’s writing is the way that you immediately feel transported right to the heart of her story and in this case, to the heart of this crazy village life that Daisy suddenly finds herself tangled up in. I felt like I was right there in the beautiful Steeple St John from page one. Daisy has a rough old start but I couldn’t help but root from her. We see her settle into village life and fall in love (albeit with some drama and rather handsome distractions along the way) But actually the heart of the story for me lays within the wonderful friendships that Daisy makes with her fellow villagers. It really is a wonderfully heartwarming read.
I have been friends with Rachael online for too many years to count and there is something so special about reading a book when you know the author. For starters I know just how hard she has worked to get here and I couldn’t be prouder of her but I especially loved that the things that I first knew Rachael for – her passion for gardening and her love for blogging – both make it into Coming Up Roses. It really is a wonderful book and one that I can’t recommend enough. Perfect for curling up with and escaping to the most beautiful of English gardens.
Coming Up Roses is available now on Kindle and in paperback from all good retailers now.
