White sleeveless blouse – Gap, skinny boyfriend khakis – Gap, bracelets – Claire’s, watch – Michael Kors, animal print skater shoes – Office
If there is one thing that I really struggle with then it’s dressing for changeable weather. Which is a teeny tiny bit of a problem when you live in this country of course. Waking up to beaming sunshine and it throwing it down with rain by the afternoon. Or worse still gloomy grey days but it’s still boiling hot. I mean, don’t even get me started on what effect this has on my poor hair but what on earth are you meant to wear? I don’t do outfit changes. If I dress for summer in the morning and it’s autumn by the afternoon then tough. I will have goosepimples on the school run. If I dress for cold and grey and then the sun comes out from nowhere then I will just suffer being a sweltering mess. I’m British like that. But it’s far from ideal, is it? But with this outfit today I think I might just have cracked it.
The loose sleeveless blouse from Gap is perfect for hot days but I can easily put a denim jacket or cardi on with it if it turns chilly. The Gap khakis are in a skinny boyfriend fit so they are ridiculously comfy come rain or shine. I love the candy blue stripe they are just so summery but actually not too summery if it suddenly starts chucking it down if that makes sense. As for the Office skaters, they stop me getting soggy toes but if the sun does come out to play then they can easily be swapped for sandals. I can cope with a change of footwear but not a whole outfit. The little bracelets are from Claire’s of all places! I was invited along to McArthur Glen designer outlet in York at the weekend (more on that in a later post but what a great day we had!) Anyway my little girls made a beeline for Claire’s of course and while they were ohh-ing and ahh-ing over everything in the shop, the teen and I stumbled across a sale rail and ended up buying an armful of bargain bracelets between us including these bronze and copper beauties. I love them!
