I know, I know! I am talking about going back to school and we’ve only just broken up for summer! But actually, experience has taught me that the sooner you start the better. Maybe it’s because I have so many children but I do like to get their uniform all done and dusted as soon as I can. Trust me, there is nothing worse than leaving that dreaded uniform shopping until the last minute then chasing around like a loon trying to find that one item that has sold out in the size you need. Been there, done that. Never. Again. So when the lovely people over at M&S got in touch asking if we would like to try out some of their uniform ready for when we go back to school in September, it couldn’t have come at a better time.
Now I’m not sure if you are aware but the M&S school uniform range features a number of handy innovations which are there to make getting ready for school easier. You can save time on ironing with Easy To Iron shirts or there are Non-Iron ones that just need need a shake when they come out of the tumble drier (so no more Monday morning emergencies!) Shirts with a clever Stain Away finish mean that stains wash away more easily and trust me, this is essential. I’m not sure what they do at school to get into such a mess! You can make your little one’s dressing speedier with Expandicuff elasticated cuffs so there is no more dealing with fiddly buttons. I think the teachers will thank you for this one too come getting changed at PE time! There are Permanent Pleats which mean that the pleats stay, even after washing. There is no need to even iron them. Then there are Adjust-A-Hem items that come with an extra 3 inches of material that can be let down as your child grows. You just iron in place, no needle and thread needed which couldn’t be easier.
I was sent a selection of items from across this range including polo shirts with Stain Away, skirts with Permanent Pleats plus Triple Action Stormwear protection, trousers with adjustable waists and again with the Stormwear protection, easy to fasten velcro plimsolls and Easy To Iron embroidered blouses. I have to say that I was seriously impressed with the quality and can’t wait to really put these handy innovations through their paces come September.

Disclaimer: For the purpose of this review I was kindly sent a selection of M&S schoolwear. All opinions are of course my own as are the models. By the way, is there anything cuter than slighter too big school uniform on little people? I think not.
