How many stripes are too many stripes?

How many stripes are too many stripes?

Hmmm don’t answer that.

(I have so many stripes that I actually do a stripey wash. No really.)

But these aren’t just any stripes.

They are embellished stripes.

(I totally didn’t have any embellished stripes in my wardrobe.)

And I had a Β£10 Boden voucher burning a hole in my proverbial pocket.

As well as a far too tempting to resist 20% discount code.

(Johnnie really wanted me to have these embellished stripes.)

Boden embellished breton top (Mostly) Yummy Mummy Blog

You might remember me coveting this very top in this post here with my Boden wish list for AW15 and it had to be mine. I umm-ed and ahh-ed over the breton they did last year with the sparkly collar because I didn’t think that I could justify buying yet another stripey top. Big mistake. Huge mistake. By the time I had talked myself into it, it had sold out and it still haunts me to this day. No way was I making the same mistake again this year. Oh no.

Note to fellow breton aficionados: The material is thinner than standard Boden breton tees. It still feels like great quality don’t get me wrong but it definitely feels like a top not a tee if that makes sense? It is longer than their standard bretons too at about hip length which is perfect for me as I sometimes find their tops a tiny bit on the short side for my liking. I am awkwardly between sizes at the minute and am glad that I sized up to a 12 to get a looser fit, I think it looks better for it.

Ahh stripes and sparkle, my two favourite things in one top.

It had to be mine.

What can’t you resist?

I’ve been coveting this top too, and you may just have pushed me over the edge…At the last count I had 7 stripey tops. I also have a problem with pointy toed shoes and black Bardot-neck tops. And I have about 15 shades of dark red nail varnish. And every shade of red lipstick under the sun. And too many grey cardigans to count. But I can stop any time I want, honest!
