Getting family dinner on the table is about to become a whole lot easier. Recipe box delivery service Marley Spoon is launching its new family plan in November. And what’s more, every box can be tailored to suit each family’s taste.

We were sent one of the recipe boxes to try out last week and I have to say that I was seriously impressed. The box itself arrived in perfect condition which I know can be a concern when things are sent by courier. But they really are very carefully packaged with the ingredients for each meal separated into bags and the meat and fish etc being carefully wrapped up in a special cooler section. All packaging is recyclable by the way. Being able to pop the bags straight into the fridge and then pick out each meal as you go along though is so convenient. Perfect for busy families like mine.

You are provided with all the ingredients you need for each meal even down to things like individual sachets of fish sauce and a little pot milk for your mashed potatoes. Everything is carefully portioned so there is absolutely no waste. The quality of all the ingredients really is top notch. And I say that as somebody who is really picky about choosing the freshest of vegetables and leanest of meat! You are provided with recipe sheets for each of the meals which give full step by step cooking instructions. I love cooking so for me, it was a great chance to try out new recipes but if you are not quite as confident in the kitchen, these boxes would still be ideal for you as they really do make everything so simple.

Zesty Salmon with potato mash and green beans (Mostly) Yummy Mummy Blog

This zesty salmon with potato mash and green beans was absolutely delicious. Salmon is always a hit with my family and these fillets were particularly good. The beans were dressed simply with onion and parsley but I had never eaten them this way before and they were amazing! I will definitely be making them this way again!

The Szechuan beef with chilli mangetout and baby corn was so tasty it was made using tender strips of organic rump steak. The portion sizes for this and all the meals actually are very generous. There is definitely no scrimping on ingredients. It came with Szechuan peppercorns and I love an excuse to get the pestle and mortar out, it always feels like real cooking!

If the box that we received last week is anything to go by, I honestly can’t recommend it enough. It was such a convenient way to cook and certainly took away the stress of what was a very busy week for us! The quality of all the ingredients was superb. Plus it was so lovely to enjoy family cooking for once without the stress of having to think about what we were having and putting everything together. Let’s face it, cooking day in day out can become a chore.

Marley Spoon offers a flexible subscription which means that you can customise your weekly box plan entirely from the recipes provided each week to suit not only your taste preferences but frequency and delivery days too. Family plan recipes will feature flavours and spices designed to fit the demands of feeding children and adults alike. The family style dishes will be large enough for 2 adults and 2-3 children and start at £4.35 per portion, with options to cook two, three or four times a week. I think it goes without saying that this gets a huge thumbs up from us!

Disclaimer: For the purpose of this review I was very kindly sent a Marley Spoon recipe box free of charge but all opinions are of course my own. I would never recommend a product or service that I didn’t truly love. And I really did love Marley Spoon!

I’ve always fancied trying out one of these meal boxes. Would you say it’s more of a “treat” or would you work the rest of your food shopping around it? If that makes sense?!

I think it could work either way really. The good thing is that it’s a flexible subscription so you can order it to suit you if that makes sense without being tied in to buy it every week? Obviously it can work out more expensive than a normal food shop but I do think it’s worth it because of the quality of the food plus you’re paying for the convenience of all the hard work being done for you!

I am not sure those meals boxes would work for my non eating of anything children, but I must look for couple ones, I saw these on your IG and was like “want” especially the stir fry xx
