Wool Overs is a world class knitwear retailer, supplying customers with mens and ladies classic and contemporary knitwear. I have to admit that it isn’t somewhere that I have shopped before so I was interested to take a look when they got in touch asking me to choose a little something to review here on my blog.
They have a great range to choose from from cardigans, jumpers and accessories such as hats, gloves and scarves. There is a really lovely selection of British wool, merino, cashmere, pure lambswool and silk blends. Perfect if you are stuck for Christmas presents as there really is something for everyone and it sure is the season for woolies!
It was the womens cardigans that really caught my eye though and in particular, this Aran Coat Cardigan. A lovely modern twist on the chunky cardigan coat that looks both stylish worn over a dress as a light coat or layered as a cardigan to keep you warm on those long country walks. Obviously living in deepest darkest Yorkshire means that right now I am grateful for all the layers I can get but I can see this being such a useful piece for those trickier in between seasons too where it is not quite cold enough for a big coat but you still need to wrap up.
The chunky wool cables are complimented with a lattice stitch design on the collar, cuff and pockets. Yes pockets! Two deep pockets! The high funnel neck has two horn buttons and a further three buttons on the placket which finishes at the waistline while the cardigan goes to just above my knees. So while it is lovely and cosy to wear, you don’t feel like you are restricted if that makes sense? This woolly Aran knit chunky cardigan is offered in different colours but I went for the charcoal as I could picture it with so many outfits.
I think it looks great and it’s such a lovely heavyweight cardigan. Priced at £60 I think it is really good value as it really is excellent quality and made from 100% British wool. I can see me wearing this to death!
