We were sent this new Monster High Designer Booo-Tique doll to review and I instantly knew that this would be perfect for my nine year old. She is doll mad (and always has been) but she is also fashion design crazy at the minute. She spends ages designing clothes and although she has the drawing bit down to a tee, it’s the actual making bit that she hasn’t quite got worked out yet. This Monster High doll seems like the perfect inbetween for her to enjoy both things at once!
The set itself comes with the Frankie Stein doll who is already wearing one cool outfit then it also comes with four new dresses for you to design and the pens, stickers and stencils that you need to do it. It really is a great little set.
My daughter at nine was happy to be left to it and design away but it really is simple to use. The special fabric pens can be used to design whatever you like of course but it is nice to use the stencils as a template. Some of the smaller patterns on the stencil are a little fiddly to get right if you a bit of a perfectionist like my daughter but they are a great guide with the cool Monster High emblems. Then you can then finish off your design with the stickers. There are some lovely little sticker accessories like zips and necklaces that look really effective on the dresses.
My daughter loved that it came with so many dresses to design and that they could then be used to dress up the doll. The doll itself is great too and a lovely addition to her growing collection of Monster High friends.
Priced at around £25 I think this Monster High Designer Booo-Tique set is great value. The Frankie Stein doll is fab but then of course you have the four extra dresses and all of the designer bits as well. For me it offers that perfect balance of both creative and imaginative play. They are the toys that I know my children go back to play with time and time again. And what can I say, my daughter absolutely loved it! This gets a huge thumbs up from us!
