What I Wore: The Shirt Dress Edition

It’s Wednesday..

..so it’s what I wore

What I Wore: The striped shirt dress edition - (Mostly) Yummy Mummy Blog

Blue striped shirt dress from La Redoute, tan sandals with jewels from Primark, bean necklace from Tiffany & Co, watch from Michael Kors, nails in Chiltern Park by Nails Inc

This is another addition to my inbetweeny wardrobe this summer. You know, because the weather is yet to catch up and feel summery? Even the days that start out nice usually end up in rain. I am so over June. I’m pinning everything on July actually getting with the programme and sending some sun our way. You never know. But in the meantime I am getting an awful lot of wear out of my inbetweeny clothes!

This shirt dress from La Redoute comes just past my knees I absolutely love the length. It feels long enough to wear on cooler (or even rainy) days if that makes sense. It feels summery without screaming SUMMER DRESS! It has long sleeves which I have rolled up to three quarter length today but I like the idea of being able to wear the sleeves long or rolled right up short or like today, somewhere in between. This dress ticks all of those inbetweeny boxes for me as well as potentially being a perfect cover up for hot days too (if they ever come!)

The sandals are old favourites from Primark from last summer and amazingly the jewels haven’t fallen off yet! I love the tan leather with the cool blue stripes it is such a classic combo. The great thing about this dress though is that it can be dressed up or down. I’ve even worn it with my silver Air & Grace Bussey sneakers when I’ve been dashing about and it looks great. I think this shirt dress has been a really good find actually. Good old La Redoute!

And of course, this awful weather equals bad hair days. Today I am trying to learn to embrace the ponytail. It’s either that or look like a poodle. Sigh. As practical as it is, I don’t really like wearing my hair tied back. I always feel like such a scruff. I feel a Pinterest spree coming on to find me some proper up-dos that can be done with one pair of hands in a hurry. Is there such a thing do you think?
