..so it’s what I wore
(It is Wednesday, right? We’re reaching that point of the summer holidays where all the days blur into one..)
Striped shift dress from La Redoute, tan Saltwater sandals from Toast, watch by Michael Kors, nails in Chiltern Park by Nails Inc
Another week, another striped dress. I know, I know! But this really couldn’t be any more different than the last couple of striped dresses that I’ve shared in my recent outfit posts. It is one of my favourite dresses this summer and is yet another La Redoute find. I have bought so many gorgeous dresses from there just lately they are killing it. They just keep those stripes coming and I can’t resist. (This dress is actually in the sale with something ridiculous like 60% off if you are looking for a bargain!) It is a really crisp cotton material so feels like a proper summer dress if that makes sense. I love the candy blue stripes (obvs) and the little ruffle around the neckline it is just so pretty. On paper, this dress shouldn’t really work on my shape as it is quite high in the neck so I thought it would make me look matronly but I think it works because it has a fitted body. And it really does fit like a glove. It is one of those dresses that feels like it was made for me. The fitted body with the fuller skirt also give me a waist that I don’t really have. I love it!
The tan Saltwater sandals are making yet another appearance. The best money I ever spent. Seriously. They look great with every dress I own and they are so ridiculously comfy that I pull them out morning after morning. I’m starting to feel sorry for all my other sandals that don’t get a look in anymore. I have to say that I think this dress would also look amazing with red or navy Saltwaters too. (I basically just want Saltwaters in every single colour and am determined to get there one pair at a time…)
I really love dressing for summer. It’s just so easy, isn’t it? Dress. Sandals. Good to go. Or it is if you are as lazy as me. I even find myself wearing less and less jewellery too. Like today when I came to write this, I realised that I’m just wearing earrings and a watch (and my rings of course, they never ever come off!) But that is only because they are all sentimental pieces. My jewellery security blankets if you will. I didn’t put them on to complete the look, I put them on because they are all treasured tokens from Mr Mostly. If this was a school report, I think it would be saying must try harder right about here! Ha!
So that was me, what have you been wearing this week? Have you picked up any bargains in the summer sales?
