When Avon got in touch about their new #MorningFace campaign I must admit that it couldn’t have come at a better time. The September blues had hit me hard and every morning was feeling like an almighty struggle, you know?
Avon have tapped into the fact that I’m not the only one who doesn’t much like what they see in the mirror in the morning and have come up with a new collection of easy to apply essential products that do exactly what they promise. Mornings with a house full of children are hectic, I think that goes without saying. I know I certainly don’t have a huge amount of time to apply my make-up before we have to run out of the door but I always feel so much better when I do. So when Avon said that with their help I could be ready to face the day in 5 minutes, I couldn’t resist taking them up on the #MorningFace challenge!
All products shown here are available at avon.uk.com or from your local independent Avon representative.
So first of all let me run through the products that I was sent. This new ‘True’ brand from Avon is a collection of easy to apply products. Obviously the secret is in getting your morning make up routine down to a tee but to do that, you need all the right products to hand. So in the kit I was sent we have the True Colour Flawless Cream-to-Powder Foundation (£12), True Colour Perfect Reds Lipstick (£7.50), True Colour Glimmerstick Eyeliner (£6), True Colour Wide Awake Mascara (£8.50), True Colour Illuminating Pearls (£10), True Colour Eyeshadow Quad (£9) and the all important timer! The thought of slapping on a whole face of make-up in 5 minutes suddenly didn’t seem so daunting with everything laid out for me like that.
So I can’t really put this off any longer, can I? Here’s the scary before photo..!
Ready, steady, go..!
The foundation was really lovely to apply. It is a cream to powder finish and I found it really really quick and easy to blend in. I must admit that I sometimes skip blusher if I’m in a rush on a morning as I normally make a mess of it and then don’t have time to fix it but the illuminating pearls added that perfect bit of shimmer to my cheeks I love it. The eyeshadow quad I was sent was in ‘Stone Taupes’ and they couldn’t have picked a more perfect colour pallette for me. I normally stick with dark browns when choosing mascara and eyeliner so the black ones I was sent were a little out of my comfort zone but actually I quite like how it turned out. And last but by no means least was the lipstick. I was sent ‘Scarlet Siren’ which was picked for me from the new Perfectly Reds collection which allows women to find the perfect shade of red to match their skin tone and hair colour and I love it. I would never have picked this for myself in a million years I am always a bit scared of red lipstick but this one is a keeper!
So did I pass the #MorningFace 5 minute challenge? Almost. 5 minutes and 17 seconds later, I looked something like this..
I have never used Avon products before and have to say that I was really impressed with the range of essentials that I was sent. The eyeliner wasn’t as smudgy as the type that I would normally pick for myself, being more of a stick than a pencil if that makes sense, but it’s nothing that I couldn’t soon get to grips with. The rest of the products were a dream to apply and the thought of being able to say bye to my morning face in 5 minutes (give or take 17 seconds) is always going to be a winner for me!
Are you going to join me in taking the #MorningFace challenge?
Disclaimer: For the purpose of this post, I was very kindly sent this range of products from Avon so that I could take part in the #MorningFace challenge but all words and opinions are my own
