Barbie Dreamtopia is an all new magical world imagined by Chelsea, the youngest sister of Barbie. Join Barbie, Chelsea and her puppy Honey as they swim through rainbow rivers with beautiful mermaids and fly through cotton candy clouds with fairies. All you have to do is dream!
To make our dreams come true, we were sent some amazing Dreamtopia goodies to play with to celebrate the launch of the brand new Barbie Dreamtopia Magical Hair app. As you can see, somebody was very excited to get playing!
Enter Dreamtopia Rainbow Cove with the Barbie Rainbow Cove Light Show Princess doll who comes to life with lights and sound. You just push the gem on Barbie’s bodice and watch as the colourful rainbow light and sound shows light up her princess dress and long brightly coloured ponytail. You can play the rainbow light show over and over again. It’s actually a really cleverly designed doll in the way that her dress lights up but also how her long hair is held up so you can see the light show on her ponytail. It is so bright that it was quite tricky to catch a good photo to really show her off but I hope you get the idea!
Ride through a kingdom of rainbows with Barbie Rainbow Princess Doll who comes with her very own carriage and gorgeous unicorn. The open air carriage is decorated in bright rainbow colours and in fact, has room for two dolls. The wheels of the carriage really roll so you can pull it along using the unicorn. The pretty rainbow dome can be opened or closed to play two ways and there is even a little step to help Barbie up into the carriage. The unicorn is attached with a special bridle and reins but can also be removed to play with separately. It really is a versatile set and certainly has the wow factor! I hate to use the C word so early but let’s face it, us parents are already thinking of ideas to help Santa out by this time of the year and what an amazing present this would make.
My eight year old absolutely loves the Dreamtopia dolls, they have really captured her imagination and she makes up the most amazing stories with them. The carriage has been used from everything from a trip to the shops to the most elaborate weddings, I love watching her play with them and come up with her very own happily ever afters. We have quite the collection of Barbies as you can imagine as all three of my daughters have been big fans. But these new dolls and especially the carriage set really are a great addition to our ever growing collection they are just so bright – we love them!
There is also a new Barbie Dreamtopia Magical Hair app to tie in with the new range and we were sent a shiny new tablet so we could have a play from our friends at Mattel. Barbie and her younger sister Chelsea welcome you to the Endless Hair Kingdom and you use your creativity to design magical hairstyles. It’s really good fun and a great way to use your imagination. You get to play with hair accessories and can wash, cut, brush, style and colour the hair. You can even take pictures of your finished creations. There are different levels to complete and you start out with one character. There are in app charges to progress on to higher levels or to buy more characters but in all honesty, my daughters were happy enough just to play with the Chelsea character they started with as you have plenty of tools and options to make any number of hairstyles.
Barbie Dreamtopia Rainbow Cove Light Show Princess is priced at £19.99 which is a great price for this all singing and dancing (or should that be lighting up?) doll and the Dreamtopia Princess Horse and Carriage is priced at £44.99 which includes the unicorn, doll and rolling carriage so again, great value I think for such a big set. They really would make a great Christmas present for any Barbie fan!
