Coldpress Juices up for review

Coldpress calls time on pasteurised drinks with two exciting new flavours that I was sent to try. Using ‘cold-pressure’ technology as opposed to heat-heavy pasteurisation, the pioneering juice brand Coldpress has launched two ‘nutritionally-dense’ drinks that again retain all their ingredients’ natural minerals and vitamins.

The juices are lighter fruit and vegetable blends that feature a gentler blend of ‘intense’ vegetables such as beetroot and celery – perfect for those like me who want to enjoy a lighter fruit and veg drink experience. Berry Beets is an earthy yet fruity mix of apples, beetroots, raspberries, pears and lemons. Where Fruity Greens is a tasty blend of apples, celery, kiwis, bananas, kale, spinach and lime.

Each hexagonal bottle is subjected to pressure designed to simply kill off any bugs but ensure that there’s no damage done to the juice’s taste or goodness – resulting in a ‘nutritionally dense’ drink. Each of them is packed in vitamin C but has a low calorie value per 150ml serve (with 63cals in the Fruity Greens and 65cals in the Berry Beets) and provides you with one of your five a day. The raspberry in the latter is a perfect complement and ‘foil’ to soften the strong taste of beetroot – as well as providing high amounts of potassium, fibre and polyphenols. The kiwi in the Fruity Greens is packed with vitamins A, B, E, K and copper – and is similarly complementary to its fellow greens of apple, celery of kale.

I must admit that on first sight, I thought the Fruity Greens looked a little too, well, green for me. But I couldn’t have been more wrong. At a push, I would say that this was in fact my favourite of the two new flavours (although it is a very close call they are both yummy!) I think I have been put off by ‘green’ juices before because I just find them too heavy but this Coldpress blend was exceptionally light while still being packed full of nutritional goodness. They even got the thumbs up from my teenager who is fussier than a fussy thing (if you think you struggle to get your toddlers to eat their five a day – just you wait until you have teenagers! You ain’t seen nothing yet! Ha!)

Both of these new flavours from Coldpress come in 500ml bottles and are available now in Waitrose for £2.79 RRP. You can find out more at or give them a follow over on social media as @Coldpressjuices
