Bam milk drinks up for review

Love the taste of chocolate or banana milk, but less keen on drinks laced with artificial ingredients and refined sugar? New all natural Bam is the only milk drink available in the UK that contains no artificial colours, flavourings, preservatives or refined sugar.

There are two flavours to try, chocolate and banana and I was sent both to try to review here on my blog and they were absolutely yummy. Both are made with whole British milk blended with cocoa or banana puree and are delicious and filling. Using whole milk as opposed to the more commonly used semi-skimmed or skimmed increases their creamy flavour. It really does make a huge difference to the taste.

In another first for such drinks, Bam’s flavours are subtly sweetened with honey. I must admit that when I first read this I thought it would take away from the flavour but I couldn’t have been more wrong. They taste perfectly sweet and the ingredient list reads like a breath of fresh air with no refined sugar, no artificial flavours, no colourings and no preservatives. These are real milk drinks with no junk and they taste delicious.

Trialled for the first time last year at Jamie Oliver’s ‘Feastival’ to resounding success, the drinks are rich in nutrients such as calcium and vitamins B2 and B12. They are available in handy resealable 330ml cartons so are the ideal ‘on-the-go’ drink for a quick energy boost. Also, with 11g of protein in each carton, they’re perfect for a pre- or post-gym visit.

Bam milk drinks are gluten-free, made with Red Tractor certified British cow’s milk and ethically sourced bananas and cocoa. They cost just £1.60 for a 330ml bottle and are available now from Sainsbury’s, Amazon and selected independent retailers.
