What I (wish I) wore: Boden top five picks

Mostly Yummy Mummy blog: My top five picks from the new summer Boden catalogue

Ahh there is nothing I enjoy more than sitting down with the new Boden catalogue and a cup of tea while turning over the corners of almost every page dreaming about what I wish I was wearing. I was wrapped up in cashmere and Uggs on the school run this morning and hid my unstraightened birds nest hair under the hood of my rainy day mac so this little ray of sunshine couldn’t have popped through my letter box at a better time. I always forget just how dull these early spring days can be. After that first day of sunshine, you are filled with such hope but before you know it, the weather is back to grey and drizzly if not bloody snow. So to cheer me up, I thought I would share my top five picks from this new summer collection from Boden.

Boden Josephine dress £98

I don’t think that there has ever been a dress on the front cover of a Boden catalogue that I didn’t want to be fair but how dreamy is this dress? I absolutely love it. It also comes in a floral or navy spotted print but it is the blue beach print that has stolen my heart. This is one of those dresses that I know I will be pulling out every summer for the next ten years it is timeless. And so me. I love the longer length it would be so easy to wear and it even has pockets. Some things are just meant to be, right?

Boden Lola skirt £85

Again another timeless piece I think and such a great shape. I completely fell in love with the midi length skirt last year as it is just so easy to wear. This skirt comes in six different prints including the blue beach print but it is the spots that have caught my eye. How gorgeous does it looked paired with the stripes here? Spots and stripes are two of my very favourite things.

Boden Riviera dress £98

Now if there was ever a dress that made my heart sing, it was this one. The perfect length with an oh so flattering fit and flare shape. It comes in five different colours (and I found a green gingham one online too from last season I believe so currently in the sale!) I love the mimosa yellow it is such a happy colour, isn’t it? But actually I’m thinking just how perfect the blue meadow spring stripe would be for summer. I’m already imagining how lovely it would be with a pop of red or even tan accessories. Such a versatile but summery colour.

Boden mini/Midi/Maxi Tassel Pouch bag from £70 – £170

I love this tassel pouch bag. It comes in three sizes – mini, midi and maxi – and of course this is a wishlist so I’m not going to choose between them I will just take one of each please. In every colour. If only, huh? They look like really soft grainy leather and I love that it has a long strap so can be worn as a shoulder bag or even as a cross-body.

Boden Classic shirt £40

You can always rely on Boden for gorgeous classic shirts in an array of prints and of course this season is no exception. I’m thinking that this would be a great purchase for now while the weather makes up its mind. Summer still feels like a very long way away! I love the spots in blue or black but it also comes in the lovely medals print. It has a tailored fit so would be perfect with skirts or even jeans. I think they do a longer line version of this shirt too if that is more your thing.

So there we have it. I must admit that it was hard to narrow this down to just five picks. I could have chosen ten times that many with ease there are just so many gorgeous things. So many classic shapes but also lots of pretty new prints. I love Boden but I think this summer collection is a particularly strong one from them.

Have you had a nosey at the new catalogue yet? What are your favourite picks?

You would look amazing in all these pieces. I think the Riveria dress is my favourite.

Can’t wait to see you modelling some of them xx
