What’s in your May Birchbox?

Review of Birchbox in May 2017 by top UK blogger Mostly Yummy Mummy

This month Birchbox is all about the little changes that can make a big difference to your daily rituals. As the saying goes, the devil lies in the details. It’s about zooming in on all aspects of life where the small things really matter. That could mean decluttering your house or tackling that to-do list, but all month long over on the Birchbox blog they will be taking a look at the little tweaks that will improve your everyday.

So, let’s take a look at the beauty products inside this month’s Birchbox that are set to change our routine in May…

Before I start, I have to say just how much I love the design of the box this month. I don’t think my photo really does it justice but it has this gorgeous marble effect with rose gold foil. Now first up up we have the full size Marsk Mineral Eyeshadow in Fifty Shades. It is a pigmented mineral shadow meaning that you add a wash of colour or go full on smokey. It is made from natural ingredients so great for sensitive eyes too. Next we have the Whish Firming Body Cream which is a Birchbox exclusive and smells gorgeous with a blend of organic shea butter, cocoa seed butter and green tea. It works to soften and protect the skin leaving it feel firm and smooth.

Then we have the Kueshi Hair Mask Shine & Volume which contains strengthening rice protein, hydrating jojoba oil and moisturising shea butter to protect and add shine to all hair types. Next is the Dr Brandt Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant which is described as a professional treatment in a tube. It is packed with pharmaceutical-grade crystals and lactic acid to polish skin and refine texture, diminishing fine lines and reducing scarring from first use. And last but by no means least is the Doucce Punk Volumizer Mascara which is another Birchbox exclusive this month. It has a jumbo fibre wand to define each individual lash adding volume and thickness for those days when only big lashes will do. It is a really generous sample size too.

As always, it costs just £10 a month (plus £2.95 P&P) to subscribe to Birchbox. If you like beauty, you will love Birchbox. It is such a lovely treat every month I love Birchbox Day! If you sign up now, there is a special free gift with your May box. Or maybe you want to buy a subscription as a gift for someone else? It would be a perfect intro to Birchbox and subscriptions start from as little as £30 for 3 months.

This month also sees the launch of Birchbox Benefits which is the new and improved loyalty programme. All subscribers will receive a whole host of benefits such as free delivery when you review your box, £5 voucher for referring a friend, 10% off products in this month’s box and more. Then if you have been a subscriber for 6 months or more, you will be upgraded to become a Birchbox VIP giving you the first chance to choose your product or box design and 15% off everything in the Birchbox Shop. You can read more about Birchbox Benefits here but it looks like a really great scheme and it’s nice way to reward customer loyalty.

*For the purpose of this review I have very kindly been sent a sample of the May Birchbox but I would never recommend a product or service that I didn’t truly love
