My Little Pony: The Movie is released this month and in celebration of that, Hasbro* have a whole new range of amazing toys set to hit the shelves. We were sent this amazing My Magical Princess Twilight Sparkle toy to review here on my blog. As you can see, there is nothing ‘little’ about this My Little Pony toy it is huge!

As a faithful pupil to Princess Celestia, Princess Twilight Sparkle is always learning just how magical friendship can be. This new toy responds to sounds and touch and says over 90 phrases plus tells stories and talks about spells. She has pegasus wings that move and a unicorn horn that lights up.

The pony is fully interactive and she can flutter her eyelashes, move her head up and down and lift her hoof. If you touch her horn it lights up and she talks about magical spells. When you press the star button on her hoof she gives friendship advice, tells stories and even sings songs. With over 90 phrases it feels like she always has something different to say my daughter absolutely loves listening to the stories. At the heart of all the phrases and stories there are messages about friendship it is terribly sweet.

Princess Twilight Sparkle comes complete with a tiara but this can be removed. She has a long mane and tail that can be brushed and plaited just like other My Little Pony toys. She can’t walk by herself or anything like that but the legs are poseable so you can make her sit or stand. It is recommended for ages 3+ but I would probably say that it would be better suited to slightly older children as I’m not sure that very young nippers would have the patience to really listen and understand the lovely sayings and stories.

Top toys for Christmas 2017 as seen on UK parenting blog Mostly Yummy Mummy

My Magical Princess Twilight Sparkle is set to be a sell out toy this Christmas (yes I said the ‘C’ word in October!) and I can certainly see why. The toy really does respond to touch and sound and having so many phrases, stories, spells and songs it never gets boring to listen to her. The way her head moves as she speaks as well as her blinking eyes, fluttering wings and light up horn, makes her feel truly magical.

The only very slightly negative point I must mention is that the toy does not include batteries. It needs four of the big fat C batteries that we didn’t have to hand so just a heads up if you are buying this as a gift. It is a bit of a bugbear of mine when toys don’t come with batteries. I would be happy to pay the extra pennies just to have them included. But, like I said, that is the only tiny negative thing I would say. Overall, this amazing pony has been a huge hit with my daughter she absolutely loves her! And we can’t wait to see the new movie!

My Little Pony My Magical Princess Twilight Sparkle is available in all good toy shops now priced at around £139.99.
