Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon up for review

Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon up for review on Mostly Yummy Mummy Blog

I think it’s fair to say that Mr Mostly doesn’t show much interest in my blog normally. But he was more than a bit interested when I was sent this Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon* to review. Funny that?! Ha! No I was more than happy for him to help me out of course.

Now available in Marks and Spencer, Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon features a smooth and spicy blend of four unique bourbon recipes. With the growth in US style smokehouses and BBQ food, bourbon is becoming increasingly popular in the UK and Four Roses, one of Kentucky’s most famous distilleries, is leading the charge.

For this bourbon, a small number of barrels are selected by Four Roses’ Master Distiller Brent Elliot at the peak of their maturity. Then they are hand blended and bottled to create what Brent calls ‘a symphony of rich spicy flavours’.

With rich, spicy flavours along with sweet, fruity aromas and hints of sweet oak and caramel, it makes for a really smooth drink. Mr Mostly enjoyed his neat but I preferred mine over a little ice. It would be perfect for a Christmas tipple and is crying out to be made into an Old Fashioned. (Yes, I have been watching Mad Men on a loop for too many years to count. Don Draper has a lot to answer for!)

Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon is priced at £27 RRP/70cl and is available nationally in Marks and Spencer stores now or you can find them over on social media as @4RosesBourbonUK.
