Bathtime fun with BABY born

BABY born Interactive Bathtub up for review on top parenting blog Mostly Yummy Mummy

My daughter loves playing with her dolls and always has done since being tiny, much like I did when I was a little girl too. We were sent the new BABY born Interactive Bathtub* to review and we couldn’t wait to have a play with it. We have quite a few BABY born dolls and one thing we love about her is all the accessories that you can get for her. This baby doll really doesn’t want for anything, does she? We love her!

So the bathtub as you can see is shaped just like a real bath but it is much more exciting than our boring old bath because with a press of a button on the side it lights up and plays music. It makes all sorts of splishing, splashing and laughing noises too it is great fun!

There is a handy ‘water fill’ line around the bath so you know where to fill it too but you only need around 3cm of water. We used it with one of our BABY born dolls but obviously any doll you use the bath with would need to be hard bodied, not soft bodied or electronic. Actually the doll we used is one that wets her nappy so we had double the fun feeding her the bath water too. This is not to be replicated with real live baby brothers and sisters obviously! Ha!

The bath has a rack that clips on or off and there is a shower head that really works. You simply pump the button and out comes the water to wash your baby. There is also another button that you can use to make bubbles. There is a little reservoir on the rack that you can fill with bubble solution and you pump it to make the foam appear. The set even comes with a little rubber duck which was a lovely little extra I thought.

When you have finished playing, the bath can be simply emptied and left to dry or wiped dry. If you have used the pumps, you need to make sure that they are empty too by pumping until the last of the water or foam has come out. It is made from a strong smooth plastic material so I was really impressed with just how easy it is to fill, empty, clean and dry.

My daughter loved the lights and sounds because it made bathing BABY born really fun. The music is fun but the giggling and splashing sounds make it sound so realistic too as you bathe the baby. I know all of mine went through a stage of hating having baths when they were little and I can’t help but think that this would be the perfect toy for putting the fun back into bathtime. Having all that fun splashing with BABY born would have made them love their bath too!

The BABY born Interactive Bathtub is recommended for ages 3+ and is priced at around £34.99 (although I did spot it on sale with Amazon for just £24.99 right now!) I think it’s great value given all the extra fun you can have with the shower and foam making pumps. The set does not include a doll though so you would need to buy a separate baby or of course like us, just use it with a BABY born you already have. It gets a huge thumbs up from us, my daughter absolutely loves it!
