What I wore: The angry leopard edit

It’s Wednesday.. so it’s what I wore.

I haven’t shared an outfit post for ages on here so it feels a bit lame that it’s only ‘jeans and a top’ but this is no ordinary top, this is my favourite angry leopard top. I say favourite because yes, I do own another angry leopard top that I bought a couple of years ago from H&M but it doesn’t compare to this beauty from Monki. It’s bright turquoise! With a splash of pink! Glittery sparkly knitted bits! And the angriest leopard face you’ve (probably) seen all day! If I had a checklist for creating the perfect sweater, this would basically tick every box.

Now I get that this isn’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea. There’s a fine line between oh-my-godfathers-that-is-amazing and what-the-hell-is-that-woman-wearing I know, I know. And it’s a line I often tread. But if there is one thing I’ve learnt in the last few years it is if it makes your heart sing, wear the damn thing. And this jumper really does make my heart sing.

I first discovered Monki through my eldest daughter who buys stuff from there all of the time. And normally lets me pay for it because she’s kind like that. I think it’s fair to say that as a forty year old mother of four, I’m probably not their target customer but honestly it’s well worth a look even if you’re not an eighteen year old art student, they have some real gems. We’ve always been impressed with the quality and delivery times are always astonishingly fast to say that they are based in Sweden. We’ve never waited more than a couple of days and that’s just for standard delivery. I think there are a handful of stores in the UK but obviously there are none near us in deepest darkest Yorkshire. The only thing I would say is if in doubt, size up. According to the size guide, a UK size 10/12 would be in size small in this jumper but I bought the medium and it fits perfectly. I am wearing a thin cotton La Redoute shirt underneath but even still, I don’t think I would have squeezed into a size smaller.

You can’t see the jeans but they’re GAP legging jeans. Don’t be put off by the name, they’re not some weird jean/legging/jegging hybrid that are neither jeans or leggings, they are essentially just great skinny jeans. No baggy bum or knees in sight. I have umpteen pairs in black and blue they are definitely my go-to skinny jean.

So that was me, what have you been wearing to make your heart sing this week?
