We are big fans of Nature’s Path* cereal so when they got in touch asking if we would like to try out their new ranges of cereal to review here on my blog, we couldn’t wait to put them to the taste test.
Already family favourites in Canada and the US, Leapin’ Lemurs and Choco Chimps from the Envirokidz range are delicious organic and gluten-free breakfast cereals with an environmental heart. They were created by Nature’s Path to continue the firm’s well-established eco-conscious credentials with 1% of sales being donated to support endangered species and environmental education for children worldwide.
Choco Chimps is a delicious combination of fair trade chocolate and organic corn, while Leapin’ Lemurs is a tasty mix of organic corn, chocolate and peanut butter. They were both a huge hit here with the kids (and grown-ups!) There are no nasties in sight with no artifical flavours, colours or perservatives but of course all the kids are bothered about is how they taste – and that is great!
The boxes themselves are also full of fun animal facts and drawing activities to inspire children to care about the world they live in. Money from the sale of Leapin’ Lemurs helps The Lemur Conservation Foundation, while funds raised from the Choco Chimps goes to The Jane Goodall Institute, set up by the eponymous British conservationist.
Leapin’ Lemurs and Choco Chimps are available now from Tesco stores nationwide and are each priced at £2.99 RRP.
Now for a breakfast that packs a punch with a crunch and sets you on the right path for the day, you really need to try the new Superflakes. This whole grain, organic, gluten-free and dairy free cereal is made with sprouted grains and chia seeds and comes in two tasty flavours, Cocoa & Coconut and Honey & Chia.
Sprouted grains are seeds that have been harvested just before they turn into a fully fledged plant. Sprouting is the natural growing process which gives life to the seed but if you stop it at the right moment, you can unlock far more vitamins, nutrients and flavour than found in ‘normal’ grains. Alongside sprouted grains are chia seeds and cocoa which also provide a beneficial breakfast boost (and taste amazing!) Chia seeds are high in ALA Omega-3 Fatty Acids, fibre and magnesium, while cocoa contains iron and antioxidants.
Both of the new Superflakes cereals were super crunchy until the last bite and the Cocoa & Coconut tasted really indulgent with crisp coconut pieces while the Honey & Chia had a really grown-up taste and were so moreish. That said, the kids tried and loved both of these too – I can’t keep anything to myself!
Both flavours of these Nature’s Path Superflakes cereals are available now at Tesco stores nationwide priced at £3.50 RRP.
