The one with my Boden picks

Top UK blogger Mostly Yummy Mummy picks out her favourite pieces from the new Boden SS18 collection

I enjoy nothing more than sitting down with the new Boden catalogue and a bucket of earl grey dreaming about what I wish I was wearing while turning over the corners of almost every page. With so much of my daydream shopping taking place as mindless scrolling on my phone, there is just something so nostalgic about leafing through an actual catalogue and nobody does them better than Boden. Who doesn’t leaf through that little book and want to be that girl skipping along the cobbled streets somewhere gloriously sunny in the Med? Maybe it’s just me? Ha! Simple pleasures and all that! Anyway, I thought I’d share some of my favourite picks from the new summer collection.

Marla Embroidered Dress £90

I love this dress it would be perfect for the beach but also for slopping around in the garden. It comes in white with red and pink embroidery too and there is a blouse version of it as well. I particularly liked the blue stripes with the bright embroidery though it just screams summer to me. With the embroidery detail and tassels make it very fashionable right now but actually this is the kind of dress that you would pull out year after year.

Lynne Colour Block Skirt £75

The whole new collection is full of summer brights, it is such a feast for the eyes after the longest winter ever and this skirt just made me go WOW! The large pleats give a full (and flattering) shape to the skirt it looks so swishy. But it is the colour combo that really blows it out of the water for me. I love how it has been styled with a classic white shirt in this pic too. Now this is how you do grown up brights.

Cressida Tassel Dress £300

Now the price tag makes this dress a bit pie in the sky for me but I couldn’t not include it JUST LOOK AT IT! It is from the Boden Icons range which this season draws inspiration from the Far East with the most amazing prints. It is made from 100% silk chiffon so I can only imagine how utterly wonderful it will feel on. I absolutely love the floral pattern and the burnished gold sequins give such a gorgeous finish. A real show stopper of a dress for me.

Hotchpotch Pintuck Dress £80

It’s easy to get carried away with the first sight of a bit of sun and want all of the sleeveless full on summer dresses but actually, it is little dresses like this that get the most wear in my wardrobe. The longer sleeves make it more wearable on cooler days and it is something that you could wear right through until autumn when the opaques are calling. I really like the contrasting prints and it also comes in a navy and red colourway too.

Anya Waterproof Mac £140

Now this is a such a practical choice I know but I honestly can’t recommend these waterproof macs enough. I have had quite a few over the years in all sorts of different colours and prints (and often snapped up in the sale) but they are without a shadow of a doubt The Best Mum Coat Ever. You’d be surprised how hard it is to actually find a practical coat that is actually waterproof that doesn’t make you look like you are going for a hike in the mountains (unless you have ever looked for one that is!) This coat ticks all of my boxes with a proper sized hood and best of all, deep usable pockets. It also happens to come in a range of snazzy prints so while it ticks all of the practical boxes, it also looks great too. I’d be lost without mine and am always looking for a new version to add to my collection and this spotty one is just gorgeous.

Make A Statement Breton £40

I have a ridiculous number of bretons in my wardrobe and they are nearly all from Boden but there is always room for one more of course. I just had to include this beauty I absolutely love it! The perfect update for a classic look and of course the excellent quality jersey and perfect length that you can always rely on from Boden. I wear my bretons to death I really do and they always wash and iron perfectly so they are worth every penny. You can never have too many stripes!

To be honest it might have been easier just to share the whole catalogue with you, there were so many gorgeous things to choose from. It was hard to whittle it down to any sort of list of top picks but that probably goes without saying. Oh I do love Boden! Have you had a look through the new catalogue yet? What are your favourite picks?

P.S. It seems a bit mad to disclose that I have, erm, nothing to disclose but I just wanted to add that I have not been sponsored in any way shape or form to write this post I just love Boden and wanted to share some of my favourite picks with you!

Oh, I love the Boden catalogue too Sarah, as you say they do the whole catalogue thing so well! I could buy everything from there, if finances allowed it! It’s great that they often do discount days and also sometimes send out the odd £10 gift voucher to tempt you with aswell! xx
