All of my children have been baby doll mad at some point and it is something that I have always encouraged because it is so nice to see them play nurturing roles. The thing that I love about BABY born* as a brand is that the range of dolls and accessories encourage this nurturing role play. My children are getting that bit older now but the play themes grow along with them so the sky really is the limit for their imagination. There is a whole host of exciting new additions and themes this spring including the BABY born Interactive Sister and BABY born Funny Toilet that we were sent to review.
The BABY born Interactive Sister doll has six functions and ten accessories for fun interactive play. She has lovely long hair that you can brush and style and although she is ‘older’ than the original BABY born doll, she is the same height so that means that you can mix and match their outfits plus she can use all of the other accessories such as the Play & Fun Bike and the Interactive Bathtub that we have reviewed previously.
She is wearing a really cool outfit and even comes with two friendship bracelets – one for you and one for her. I think this is such a sweet idea. She can even stand on her own and bend her knees so she feels like more of a grown up doll. There is a special feeding bottle so she can drink water but she can also cry tears and is fully bathable.
I tried to capture a photo of the tears as best as I could but it really is realistic!
BABY born Sister is priced at £49.99 RRP which I think is good value given all the extra accessories that she comes with. She really is a great addition to our collection of dolls and my daughter loved that she was a ‘big’ sister to our other baby dolls.
There are all sorts of bath time accessories coming this spring and as part of that collection we were sent the BABY born Funny Toilet. Potty training has never felt like so much fun! Ha! You sit BABY born on the toilet and as you can see, the sister doll also fits perfectly. The toilet makes all sorts of melody sounds and laughter and even gives a round of applause when you lift her off. When BABY born has finished, you can press the button at the back to make flushing sounds.
My girls are still at that age when anything even slightly related to going to the toilet is just the funniest thing on earth. To be fair, this isn’t a passing phase and has been going on for as long as I can remember. But if you have younger children that are still at the potty training stage themselves, I can’t help but think that this toilet would be a brilliant way to help teach them while having fun. I think mine would have loved a toy like this at that age.
The BABY born Funny Toilet is priced at £16.99 RRP and comes fully assembled but does require batteries. I think it’s a great addition to the bathtime range. I never realised that a toilet could be so much fun but there you go! They love it!
