Roll on home time tomorrow and the summer half term holiday, we are so ready for this break. I remember checking my diary a couple of weeks ago and thinking how quickly it had come around. It feels like no time at all since we went back after Easter, it has been such a short term. But this last week has felt longer than the last six weeks put together. It’s always the way, isn’t it?
All of a sudden that end of term exhaustion has set in and we are crawling to the end now. The twelve year old who is normally up with the lark has slept in every morning this week. Well, by sleep in I mean I’ve had to wake her at seven every day which is unheard of. Normally she’s awake before her alarm but even she is struggling to get up this week. I think we are all ready for this little break.
This week off school will just fly by because one week never feels quite long enough, does it? Just as you’re into the swing of things it is time to dig out the school bags and find that homework that you meant to do at the start of the holidays but didn’t quite get around to. Or maybe that’s just us. Then of course we’ll be back for what will feel like the longest term of all until school is out for summer. And just like that, another school year will be done and dusted. Time flies when you’re having fun. Or something like that.
