What I Wore: The War Child UK charity tee edit

War Child UK charity t-shirt with Bella Freud

It’s Wednesday..

..so it’s what I wore (although strictly speaking, this isn’t what I’m wearing today but I love it so much that I just had to share it with you!)

War Child UK have teamed up with some of Britain’s most prominent fashion designers to create an exclusive range of t-shirts and tote bags to help support and raise awareness for their work protecting children affected by war. I just couldn’t resist this Bella Freud Peace and Love tee. The t-shirts cost just £25 and all proceeds go directly to the charity. Getting your mitts on a Bella Freud slogan top at high street prices AND doing your bit for charity at the same time? Everyone is a winner!

War Child UK is such an important charity. They work with children affected by war in 9 countries and are aiming to reach 260,000 children by 2019. They help keep them safe, give them an education, and equip them with skills for the future. They’ve teamed up with world renowned fashion designers to create this range of exclusively designed t-shirts for the #WearItForWarChild campaign.

If the Bella Freud one isn’t your thing then there are others designs to choose from Quasimi, Giles Deacon, Vivienne Westwood, Henry Holland and Pam Hogg. You can see the whole range here. Just a word of advice on sizing though as so many people have asked me already on Instagram, they are unisex so I’d say they come up big. I’d usually be a size 12 and went for a medium which is a lovely slouchy fit. There is a full size guide on the website though if you’re not sure and they do offer free exchanges and returns if you’re not happy. I must say as well that I’m seriously impressed with the quality of the t-shirt. They are made from organic cotton so are super soft and it has washed like a dream. Proper mum review there! Ha!

I’ve been wearing this to death with culottes or pleated skirts, I absolutely love it. The looser fit t-shirt looks great tucked in and it is also a perfect (longer) length with it being unisex. It will be gorgeous for pairing with jeans too in cooler months of course (although as I sit here in a puddle of my own sweat while the temperature soars to 30 degrees even here in Yorkshire, just the very thought of cladding my legs in anything never mind denim makes me want to melt!)

Grab your t-shirt (or tote) from War Child UK while stocks last!
