..so it’s what I wore.
Except technically it is not what I wore this Wednesday but last week, I just didn’t get around to writing the blog post. Such is life. But I really wanted to share this outfit with you as it is perfect for those indecisive weather days. You know the ones where you start out wearing a summer dress but end up in a jumper? Well this is one of those perfect inbetweeny outfits that works whether the sun is shining or hiding behind a great big black cloud. Who has time for three outfit changes a day? Not I!
These culottes were a Primark find and I absolutely love them. I don’t often get lucky in there and I had only nipped in for an emergency pair of sunglasses when I was in York last week. Honestly, I don’t know what I do with sunglasses I am forever losing them or forgetting them. Anyway, I found an emergency pair of new and really rather nice sunglasses for One Whole English Pound and on my way to the till I spotted (spotted – geddit?) these gorgeous culottes. Of course, had I gone in there to find a pair of culottes I wouldn’t have seen any. Why do you always find the best things when you are not meant to be looking? But they were something like £12 and I just couldn’t resist. They are a really lightweight material with a sort of crinkle effect and have an elasticated waist so fit perfectly. They did other colours and patterns too and I’m tempted to go back and buy some more but what’s the betting they will all be gone by the time I get to Primark again?
I’ve worn them here with a plain black tee from Next. It is just from their basic t-shirt range that are always on offer for 2 tops for £9 or whatever it is and I have the same one in several colours because I love the fit. Just a basic crew neck tee in a lovely soft cotton that isn’t too tight or too baggy and it is also long enough to tuck in like I have here. Good basic t-shirts can be so hard to find but I love these. The little straw handbag is from La Redoute but I think it must be sold out as I can no longer find it online but these kind of bags are all over the high street at the moment. I might do a round up of some of my favourites later on in the week if I have time. It’s just a lovely way to make any outfit feel instantly more summery. On my feet I am wearing the Birkenstock Arizona sandals that I was sent to review from Jones Bootmaker a couple of years ago. As you can see, they are still going strong and still very much a firm favourite. The culottes look great with sandals I think but they are also just as good (if not better) with my Air & Grace Bussey trainers too. These cheap and cheerful culottes are turning out to be a really handy addition to my wardrobe, I love how versatile they are.
So that was me, what have you been wearing this week? What is your go to for the inbetweeny weather days?
